We are excited to announce the launch of open cafe hours at Monroe Circle Community Center (MC3). Each Monday and Tuesday morning guests are invited to stop into the cafe between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. While there, they can enjoy free coffee, Internet access, and television or music playing in the background. This will be a great time to gather as a community, catch up with old friends, meet new ones, learn about MC3’s programs and even register for ones to participate in.
The Open Cafe is also a great time for volunteers to get plugged into the MC3 community. The following is a list of volunteer opportunities that are available during the Open Cafe. From highly-relational to task-driven clean-up crew, a variety of opportunities exist. Consider what might be the best fit for you. Then contact us with what you had in mind and we will be in touch.
This person would arrive early to make sure everything is ready to go when the doors open for guests at 9:00 a.m. This person would get the coffee going, set up the TV or music, and put the finishing touches on any other tasks that need to be completed, so the cafe is ready to welcome guests when the doors open.
This person would stick around after the 2:00 p.m. closing to make sure all is cleaned up (take out the trash, check the bathrooms, clean the coffee station, turn off the TV or music, etc.).
This highly-relational position would talk with guests; offer online assistance, if needed; discuss MC3 programs and next steps, as applicable; and be a welcoming presence for all guests.
Another highly-relational position, this person would support the Awesome Attendant, answer phones, help with check-in, direct people as to where to go and be another welcoming presence for guests.
