We had an amazing summer at MC3, full of great times and community. We wanted to share just a few of the highlights with you. Take a look at some pics below and then visit our Flickr feed for even more.
Twenty students from MC3 and Edison Gardens attended SpringHill Day Camp at Granger Community Church. The week was filled with games, rock climbing, water slides, Bible lessons, making friends and having fun. Check out this recap video for a closer look at just how awesome the week was.
We had the privilege of being a host site for South Bend Community School Corporation and 21st Century Community Learning Center’s NASA Ignite! summer camp. Budding scientists took part in this one-week workshop that focused on science, technology, engineering and math.
We teamed with Granger Community Church’s student ministry and their Move event as they lent a hand and helped rehabilitate spaces within the community. We’d like to thank the students and everyone who took part in beautifying the area.
Son City Kids Carnival
The whole community (or so it seemed) came out for the Son City Kids Carnival. There was lots of food, face painting and inflatables to entertain the kids. The fire department even came to hose off the kids and join in the fun.
Hair Kutz 4 Kids
Our back-to-school event was a great time that helped prepare kids for their return to school. We handed out school supplies as 17 barbers and stylists gave 205 kids haircuts. What a great way to start the school year!
As sad as we are to see such a fun-filled summer come to an end, we are excited about the fall opportunities that are ahead of us. The Gathering is in full swing, the next financial literacy class about to start, the quilting ladies are still busy sewing, and the food pantry is open as always. Stay tuned for more updates soon and be sure to check out more summer pictures on our Flickr feed.
